the children killed in the massacre at the sandy hook elementary school right down the road from where we are right now. we're watching all of this unfold, and the pain is clearly, clearly evident. while every day here in new town is sad, today, it's especially, it's especially sad. this afternoon, the first funerals were held for victims of the elementary school massacre. connecticut's governor, you just saw him here, he attended one of the services today, and he summed it up this way, and i'm quoting him, you see little coffins and your heart starts to ache. as this town and the nation tries to come to grips with this huge, huge tragedy, the investigation is focusing in on the question why. some of the answers may come from a computer found in the home where the gunman, adam lanza, lived with his mother. cnn's national correspondent deborah feyerick is keeping track of the latest developments. she's joining us now live with more. what are you learning, deb? >> wolf, we can tell you law enforcement sources are telling us the computer is being analyzed. it was found smashed inside the hom
connecticut 9:30 tomorrow morning marking the moment one week earlier when bullets ripped through the sandy hook elementary can school. final preparations are being made for tributes to the 26 students and educators who were killed last friday morning at that elementary school. poppy harlow spoke with one of the boyfriends of one of the victims buried today, lauren rousseau. tomorrow morning, 9:30 a.m. eastern, poppy. >> reporter: absolutely, wolf. i mean, this community is still reeling. they are really living minute by minute here trying to get by. lauren rousseau, this beautiful young woman, 30 years old, told her mother that she had wanted to be a teacher since before she was even in kindergarten. she got to live out that dream but her life was cut far too short. >> this says, me, since i've been with you. thanks for rubbing off on me. >> reporter: 30 and in love, tony and lauren rousseau. do you remember the moment that you were in love with her? >> yes. like right -- the first date i had with her i knew. >> reporter: at a wine bar where they shared their first kiss. lauren called him

. there are no adequate words to describe the murder of 20 first graders and six staffers at sandy hook elementary school. since the tragedy the town's police officers have worked around the clock. there have been so many funerals and grieving families to assist. yesterday they got a much needed break. officers from police departments across the state stepped in so the first responders could have a day off. the last of the funerals were held over the weekend. three little girls who had barely begun their lives. we remember them tonight. >> ana marquez green is remembered as someone who loved picture problems, arts and crafts and ballet and loved people fiercely. she was known for her singing voice bigger than her size. ♪ come though all mighty king >> reporter: just 6 years old, ana grew up with music in her ears and her love of singing was evident before she could talk. her father is a musician and college music instructor. his 2009 album features a song he wrote about her entitled "ana grace." ana never walked anywhere. according to her family, her mode of transportation was dance. she leaves behind

adam oepd fire in sandy hook elementary school, but a person that knows him says he hadn't had communication with his son in about two years when adam cut his father out of his life about the time the elder lanza remarried. until then, peter lanza, an executive with ge, seen in this linked in photo, had weekly visits with adam. according to the same source that told us lanza didn't live the in the newtown since 2001, eight years before his divorce with ex-wife nancy was finalized. in the hours after the shooting a reporter for the stamford advocate outside peter lanza's house told cnn lanza was unauto wear of his son's involvement in the shooting. >> i said we received a report that somebody at this address is connected to the shooting in newtown. his face just went from -- you know, he'd been this very polite stranger making pleasantries with me, and he went from that to sort of shock and then just this horrified look. essentially declined comment, rolled up his window and went inside his house. >> since then he released a statement expressing condolences for victims' families

"consumer reports" says spending fell in october after rising in september. the gdp was higher than estimated. i never can quite figure out how they can both be true and whether or not this continues in coming months. >> that's a great question. i think we need to start with the revised number for the third quarter. the reason we saw gdp growth in the third quarter was because businesses were restocking their inventory. an government spending increased about 9.5%. not sustainable indicators of economic growth in the long term. consumer spending makes up about 70% of economic growth. the fact we saw that come down in october and actually the fact in november the early numbers despite a robust holiday shopping weekend are still not looking so good is why we're seeing economists predict a weak fourth quarter economic number. and we're actually seeing numbers as low as 1% which would be really terrible. >> no
